Her journey included work with Bhoomi Network, where she focused on sustainable food and farming. In 2015, she founded Sankalpa, an initiative for conscious eating, with a focus on educating children. Her recent book, "Windows to Mindful Eating," exemplifies her commitment to promoting healthier eating habits in society, especially among the young.

Words of Wisdom is a platform that allows university students to engage with accomplished speakers who have achieved success in their respective fields and possess valuable experiences and insights to share.

On 12/10/2023, as part of the Words of Wisdom initiative, Ms Santhilakshmy Ananthanarayanan, the founder of Sankalpa, an organization dedicated to promoting a holistic approach to food, was invited to address the university students.

Sankalpa conducts workshops in schools to raise awareness among children about the significance of healthy and balanced food. Ms. Santi Lakshmi’s inspiration stemmed from her involvement with the NGO, Boom Network, which allowed her to pursue her passion for nutritious food. Through her unique approach, she has effectively raised awareness within society about the importance of maintaining a healthy and balanced diet.

Ms Santhilakshmy Ananthanarayanan delivered a speech on "Windows to Mindful Eating", a book recently written by her. This topic primarily emphasizes the importance of nutritious food for a healthy body and the natural cycles of the human body.

The distinguished speaker commenced her presentation by providing a clear definition of mindful eating, which entails being fully present while consuming food. She captivated the audience with her inspiring personal journey towards adopting a wholesome and mindful diet.

The presentation provided detailed information on the natural cycles within the human body, which divides the 24-hour day into three distinct parts. Following this, the speaker discussed the significance of incorporating fruits and vegetables into one's daily diet, while shedding light on consuming fructose, the primary sugar found in fruits. Furthermore, the speaker emphasized the importance of maintaining a diet that is predominantly alkaline. Additionally, the speaker dispelled the misconception surrounding citric acids, clarifying that they do not contribute to acidity within the body.

During the session, the speaker provided detailed information on various types of millets and emphasized their importance in our daily diet due to their high fibre and calcium content, as well as their alkaline nature. The session concluded with a lively Q&A session, and the speaker encouraged attendees to share the information with their families and friends.

The Director, Dr K P Sai Leela madam expressed gratitude to the speaker for making the session informative and interactive and felicitated her with a token of love and gratitude, the session ended with the recitation of the Shanthi mantra at 3:30 p.m.
