DR SRIKANTA MURTHY K
VICE-CHANCELLOR, SRI SATHYA SAI UNIVERSITY FOR HUMAN EXCELLENCE
Prof Srikanta Murthy holds a PhD in Computer Science with specialisation in transforming epigraphical objects into machine-recognisable image patterns. With an impressive experience spanning over 33 years, Dr Srikanta Murthy has held key positions such as Principal at Nagarjuna College of Engineering, Professor and Head of Department at both Nagarjuna College of Engineering and PES Institute of Technology.
He has also made significant contributions to research and has guided eight PhD scholars and published over 100 research papers. Dr Srikanta Murthy holds membership in various professional bodies such as Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Life Member of the Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE), Associated Member of the Institution of Engineers (IE), Life Member of Society of Statistics, Computer and Applications, Life Member of Indian Society of Remote Sensing (MISRS), Life Member of Computer Society of India (MCSI), and Senior Member of International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology (IACSIT). He is a Member of the Board of Examinations (BOE) – Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi; Chairman of BOE for BE, Mangalore University; a Member of BOE and BOS for BE at various esteemed institutions such as BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, Dr Ambedkar Institute of Technology in Bangalore, and Dayanand Sagar College of Engineering (Autonomous) in Bangalore, etc.
Prof Murthy’s achievements have been recognised with prestigious awards like the NIE Silver Jubilee Gold Medal in MTech and Dr Rajendra Prasad Award presented by the International Eminent Educationists’ Forum in New Delhi.
His dedication to the field of knowledge and education, plays a vital role in making a robust academic curriculum, as the Vice Chancellor of Sri Sathya University for Human Excellence ever since May 2021.
