The SSSUHE's Words of Wisdom (WOW) sessions began this academic year with a great success, thanks to the presence of our esteemed guest Dr. Vikram Sampath, a renowned historian and captivating storyteller. Dr. Sampath has authored numerous books, including remarkable works on Veer Savarkar that set him apart. During an engaging session on "Reimagining Indian History - Opportunities & Challenges", students and staff were treated to a vibrant and insightful experience.
Dr. Sampath delved into the glorious history of the Wodeyars of the south and the Ahoms of the north-east, rulers who remained untold for six centuries until recently. Moreover, he shed light on the hidden tribal revolts and community wars against the British during the freedom struggle. His words inspired the audience to rediscover historical sites and monuments, rekindling their passion for learning history.
Not only did Dr. Sampath provide multifaceted perspectives on writing and analyzing history, but he also facilitated a thought-provoking Q&A session that left the audience enlightened. The event marked a brilliant beginning for the WOW sessions and set the tone for an enriching academic year ahead.
During his visit to Sathya Sai Grama, Dr. Vikram Sampath had the opportunity to meet Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai. They exchanged their works and thoughts with humility and love, reflecting their mutual respect.
Thereafter, Dr. Sampath took a tour around the campus, where he had the pleasure of meeting young and energetic vatus of our Veda Gurkulam. He also visited the Goshala, Sarla Memorial Hospital, and the new edifice of the Medical College, which further enhanced his experience. Overall, Dr. Vikram's visit to Sathya Sai Grama was truly remarkable and memorable.
