PROF THOTATRI VENUGOPAL
REGISTRAR (EVALUATION), SRI SATHYA SAI UNIVERSITY FOR HUMAN EXCELLENCE
Prof T Venugopal is a highly accomplished academician who earned a PhD in Mathematics with specialisation in Integral Transforms of Generalised Functions from Madurai Kamaraj University. He was recognised as the Best Outgoing Postgraduate student at St Xavier’s College at Palayamkottai in Tamil Nadu in the year 1989. Mr Venugopal has been honoured with prestigious CSIR Junior and Senior Research Fellowships, highlighting his interdisciplinary research interests in Management, Computers, and Sanskrit.
Throughout his career, Dr Venugopal has demonstrated a passion for teaching and research. He has guided 21 MPhil scholars and 10 PhD scholars, mentoring them in their respective fields. With 22 years of teaching experience at the university level in the fields of Engineering and Science, he has made significant contributions to undergraduate and postgraduate education. His research work has been published in esteemed journals indexed in Web of Science (SCIE), Scopus, and peer-reviewed publications. Additionally, he has authored six books. He has delivered over 25 talks on Mathematics and 55 talks on spirituality, disseminating its knowledge to diverse audiences. As a coach, he has conducted numerous workshops on software-oriented Mathematics, both online and offline, focusing on subjects like Operations Research, Applied Business Statistics, School and College Mathematics, and Automata Theory/Theory of Computation.
Dr Venugopal has held several key positions during his tenure at Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi Viswa Maha Vidyalaya (SCSVMV). He served in the roles of Controller of Examinations, Director of Research and Publications, Member of Board of Management, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Head of Department of Science and Humanities, and Head of Department of Mathematics. He introduced branch-specific Mathematics papers and initiated Weekly Mathematics Research Colloquiums. Dr Venugopal also developed a Bridge Course for new entrants and authored an Engineering Primer Book for them. Additionally, he established the Research and Publications Wing, revitalising the University Printing Press. Dr Venugopal joined the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence in August 2021.
