The Bhagavad Gita, revealed by Lord Narayana to Arjuna and incorporated into the Mahabharata by Vyasa, consists of 18 divine chapters with timeless wisdom. Shukla Ekadashi in Margasheersha, known as Gita Jayanti, symbolizes the teachings of Lord Krishna to Arjuna at Kurukshetra.

The Gita's guidance on duty and righteousness has inspired figures like Mahatma Gandhi and spiritual leaders like Satya Sai Baba. The motto of Sri Sathya Sai University, "Yogah Karmasu Kaushalam," reflects the Gita's emphasis on skill in action.

The Gita's teachings offer practical guidance for ethical living in the modern world. Initiatives like the "Gita Sara Sarita" workshop at Sathya Sai Grama further disseminate the Gita's wisdom.

Gita Jayanti is not just a historical commemoration but a timeless celebration of wisdom. University members participate in chanting bhakti yoga, specifically the 12th chapter, as an offering to Lord Krishna.
