Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE)

Founded on the principle of values-based, integrated education, SSSUHE is redefining the purpose of education by detaching it from commercial interests and reconnecting it with spirituality and service. Under the visionary leadership of its Founder and Chancellor, Sri Madhusudan Sai, the University is committed to restoring education to its truest form.

In pursuit of this mission, SSSUHE hosted the first All-India Vice-Chancellors Conference on “Values-Based Education in the Indian Context” on 24th February 2025, with participation from over 50 universities. Building on its success and inspired by the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the second edition—“Humane Education for a Better World”—aims to deepen the dialogue by integrating human values and ethical consciousness into mainstream education.

This conference serves as a collaborative platform for Vice-Chancellors and academic leaders to champion humane education as a core institutional value. It seeks to inspire the creation of inclusive, socially responsible universities that nurture character, conscience, and community. By engaging top leadership, the initiative aims to cascade these values throughout institutions, shaping a future-ready and ethically grounded higher education landscape.

OBJECTIVES

• To clarify the concept of humaneness and its relevance in the 21st century.

• To explore how education systems can actively cultivate human values alongside academic excellence.

• To offer actionable frameworks and strategies for integrating humane education into university curricula, pedagogy, and campus culture.

• To introduce assessment tools for tracking the development and impact of humane values in students.

• To foster a shared vision and commitment among Vice-Chancellors toward societal transformation through education

TARGET AUDIENCE

The conference will bring together Vice-Chancellors, senior university administrators, education policy-makers, and leading experts in psychology, ethics, spirituality, and pedagogy.
