Mr V. Ravichandar is the former Honorary Director of Bangalore International Centre. He also serves as the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Slovenia in Bangalore, India. Additionally, he is a member of the 4-member 'Brand Bengaluru' Government team and part of the 3-member core team that organizes the Bangalore Literature Festival. Currently, he holds the position of Chief Facilitator at BLR Hubba, a festival of festivals.
Since 2000, Ravichandar has actively engaged in urban issues in India on a pro bono basis. He served as a member of the Expert Committee on BBMP Restructuring for Bengaluru from 2014 to 2018. He initiated the City Connect platform, enabling collaboration between Corporates, Civil Society, and Government across five cities. Ravichandar played a crucial role in promoting the Tender SURE concept in Bangalore, advocating for pedestrian-friendly streets. He was a member of the Bangalore Agenda Task Force (BATF) from 2000 to 2004 and contributed to the design of the SAS property tax system. He was also instrumental in catalyzing the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JN-NURM) as one of four influential Bangaloreans.
Ravichandar supports various social and cultural initiatives, including the Chennai International Centre, education for the underprivileged through organizations such as Teach for India, Vidya Poshak, Samhita Academy, and Akshara Foundation, as well as the Takshashila Institution and Attakkalari. Additionally, he served as the co-Chair of the Karnataka Tourism Vision Group from 2013 to 2016.
With a Mechanical Engineering degree from BITS, Pilani, and an MBA from IIMA, Ahmedabad, Ravichandar brings over three decades of industry experience in research-based consulting, primarily through his former firm Feedback Consulting.
