Throughout his career, Major General Koul undertook challenging assignments, conducting surveys in insurgency-affected areas like Nagaland and Arunachal Pradesh. He played a pivotal role in introducing 'Digital Mapping' to India in 1989 and led the Survey Team during the Indian Scientific Expedition to Antarctica, creating the first Indian map of Maitri & Environs. Beyond his military service, he has delivered lectures and presentations at prestigious institutions and international events, leaving a lasting impact on both the military and literary realms.
