After a decade of unwavering dedication and service, a historic moment has finally arrived. Sri Madhusudan Sai’s mission of providing free, values-based education to underprivileged children in rural areas continues to gain strength day by day. Back in 2015, Sri Madhusudan Sai foresaw that the students of these institutions would one day become the torchbearers and mentors themselves. Guided by His foresight, the Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam Group of Institutions has embarked on a “guru-guru parampara” journey, establishing a lineage where mentors pass on knowledge, transform, and nurture countless others, thus perpetuating the cycle of mentorship.

In a groundbreaking move, the first cohort of post-graduates from the Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, founded by Sri Madhusudan Sai, are stepping into their new roles as “Pradhaana Paalakas.” The term “Pradhaana Paalakas” translates to caretakers and protectors, symbolizing their responsibility for the generations of children who will continue to receive education within this mission. This momentous transition marks a significant step towards realizing the dream of providing every child with the fundamental right to quality education.

In a profound display of giving back, these young men and women in their twenties, armed with education and a profound sense of purpose, are now prepared to shoulder the responsibilities once borne by their predecessors. This symbolic passing of the Karvatya Danda or torch from one generation to the next signifies the ongoing commitment to the mission’s vital work, both in serving the community and in the realm of spirituality.

On the auspicious occasion of Vijaya Dashami, or “Simolanghan,” which can be broken down into “Simo” (meaning “limit” or “confines”) and “Langhan” (meaning “to defy” or “to cross”), we celebrate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and the indomitable spirit of those who dare to defy boundaries in their pursuit of a higher purpose. These young paalakas, as torchbearers of this mission, now embody this spirit, carrying the legacy of service and spirituality forward into the world with a determination to make a profound and positive impact on society.
