The Innovation and Incubation Center for Excellence (IICE), established in 2022, promotes grassroots innovators to address rural challenges in India, enhancing livelihoods and creating sustainable solutions. IICE collaborates with the National Innovation Foundation and POSSPOLE to support rural employment and develop low-cost innovations.
Grassroots Innovation Awards
Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE) hosted the Grassroots Innovation Awards, celebrating scalable and affordable innovations serving the underserved. Two exceptional innovators transforming agriculture were honored.

Mr Anil Balanja: Naturalized around 800 varieties of imported fruits
Award Highlights
· Innovative Practices: Sri Anil Balanja’s naturalization of saplings of 800 varieties of foreign fruits imported from 25 countries and Sri Sharanabasappa P Patil's low-cost agri-devices enhance farming efficiency.
· Community Impact: Both awardees emphasized their willingness to share their knowledge to uplift fellow farmers and improve rural economies.
· Cultural Context: The event coincided with Dasara celebrations, highlighting tradition and spirituality's significance.

Chief Guest and Keynote Speaker
The Chief Guest, Mr Biswajit Daimary, Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly, attended the ceremony along with Chancellor and Vice-Chancellor of SSSUHE. Sadguru Sri Madhusudan Sai emphasized, "India lives in its villages, and these two people are examples of this. They do it to set a right example in society."
