DIGITREC – Digital Resources Training and Research Center is a dedicated initiative of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence, Kamalapur, Kalaburagai, established to bridge the growing gap between technology availability and its effective use in education.
We work directly with school teachers across the region, providing structured training, open educational resources, and a collaborative platform so that digital learning becomes a practical, everyday reality in every classroom.
Our programs are built around a simple but powerful conviction: technology is only as good as the teacher who wields it. DIGITREC ensures that every educator we train leaves with not just tools, but the confidence and skill to use them meaningfully for their students.
Guiding Principle: The right technology, at the right time, for the right task.
Every activity at DIGITREC is anchored by a clear set of goals designed to make technology-enhanced teaching accessible, effective, and sustainable across schools in Karnataka.
Integrate mobile, TV, laptop, or computer — at least one device per class or per school — into daily teaching practice.
Identify and recommend the most effective digital resources tailored for different subjects and learning levels.
Equip teachers with the skills and confidence to integrate technology as a meaningful pedagogical strategy.
Promote hands-on, interactive approaches that increase student engagement and improve learning outcomes.
Create a shared space for teachers to exchange ideas, models, and creative teaching approaches with peers.
Advance the field through ongoing research on digital teaching methods and their impact on student learning.
Build safe and responsible digital habits among teachers and students through targeted awareness initiatives.
Every DIGITREC intervention follows a clear, structured journey — from preparation and training to real, lasting classroom impact.
Before any training begins, we gather the best resources available. This includes collecting Open Educational Resources (OER), curating models and best practices, and developing a training curriculum that covers classroom management, supportive aids, and student engagement strategies. Our team also continuously attends seminars and conferences to stay at the forefront of digital education.
We organise hands-on workshops and seminars to equip teachers with practical digital skills and encourage technology use in classrooms. DIGITREC also provides a platform for teachers to share ideas and learn from one another. Training is delivered through three flexible models, ensuring we reach educators regardless of location.
The final and most important phase: teachers apply what they have learned in their own classrooms. Implementation is guided by four key principles — using technology flexibly whenever needed, integrating it into planned lessons, drawing on different digital pedagogical approaches, and always selecting the right technology for the right task at the right moment.
DIGITREC uses three flexible models to make quality digital pedagogy training accessible — wherever teachers are located.
Training conducted on the university campus for faculty and affiliated educators, using DIGITREC's full range of resources and facilities.
Our team travels to schools near the university campuses, bringing quality digital pedagogy training directly to local teachers in their own environment.
Teachers are invited to the DIGITREC center for immersive, resource-rich training sessions in a purpose-built learning environment.
DIGITREC has adopted this theme to raise awareness about digital citizenship and online safety among teachers and students. Through focused sessions and resources, we help school communities understand data privacy, responsible internet use, and how to navigate the digital world safely — building habits that protect learners both inside and outside the classroom.
DIGITREC was created in direct response to the real barriers that prevent teachers from adopting digital tools effectively. Our programs are designed to tackle each of these head-on.
| # | Challenge | How DIGITREC Helps |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Time constraints in adopting new teaching methods | Flexible training schedules and ready-to-use classroom resources |
| 02 | Infrastructure and device limitations in schools | Training designed around single-device and low-tech scenarios |
| 03 | Lack of technical support for educators | Ongoing peer support network and DIGITREC helpdesk |
| 04 | Fear of change and low digital confidence | Hands-on, low-pressure workshops that build confidence gradually |
| 05 | Deficient digital teaching materials for subjects | Curated OER library covering all major subjects and levels |
| 06 | Inadequate foundational digital teaching skills | Structured curriculum from beginner to advanced digital pedagogy |
