During the beginning of the new academic year at Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketanam, a grand Maha Vishnu Homa was conducted as part of the monthly Homas held across various campuses of Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Gurukulam. The Bhagavad Gita emphasizes the importance of expressing gratitude to God for His blessings, stating that failing to do so is akin to theft. One way to show this gratitude is through the practice of Homas and yagnas, where offerings are made into the sacred fire. These rituals involve Lord Agni, the god of fire, acting as a messenger, conveying our prayers and offerings to the gods. In this report, we will highlight a few aspects of the celebrations.

The planning and organization of the entire event was undertaken by students of Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence. The proceedings began around 6:30 a.m. with the Ganesha pooja, followed by the Panchamrutha abhishekam. The Homam commenced with vibrant chanting of the mantra "Narayanaya Vidmahe Vasudevaya Dhimahi Tanno Vishnu Prachodayat." The Maha Vishnu Homa holds immense significance as it is believed to bring various benefits. It can help in healing diseases and acquiring knowledge. Additionally, it is believed to cleanse one's life from all sins and provide protection from danger and unforeseen challenges.

The chief guests for the program, Mr. B S Desai Pharma, Mrs. B S Desai Pharma, and Prof. Vijayreddy Vandali, performed the Poornahuti to the Maha Vishnu Homa. Later, brother Krishna Bharath, who was an intern at the campus, spoke to the audience about the significance of the Maha Vishnu Homa. Mangala Arathi was offered to Bhagawan, followed by the distribution of prasadam, marking the conclusion of the monthly Homam conducted at Sri Sathya Sai Vidyaniketanam Gurukulam in the month of June.
