Embracing Openly and Touching Deeply
Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence has completed five years of its journey. Five years, might sound like a small number…sure it is, from the perspective of the tenure of the University. But this University, is unique in the way it has handled these five years by delving deep and expanding wide to embrace all openly and to touch lives profoundly.
If the vision of the University is to transform the lives of many students by imparting true education based on the foundation of spirituality, its curriculum is centred around bringing forth the best in every student by giving them a plethora of subject streams to choose from, apart from Arts and Sciences, like Vedic Studies, Performing Arts, Medicine, Agriculture, Mental Health, Physical Education and Sports. The pedagogy is based on values and inculcating a sense of service-mindedness with which the knowledge and skills gained will be put to use. The purpose is two-pronged and interconnected – ātmano mokśārtham jagat hitāya ca – Realisation of the Self and Welfare of the World. The operation on a day-to-day basis is based on mutual harmony, co-operation and unity to attain this singular goal, without consideration of any selfish interests.
What the University has achieved over these five years is a testimony to the uniqueness and steadfastness of the University, the epoch-making achievement being the inauguration of India’s first-of-its-kind completely free medical college – Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research.
